Closed

One of several tiny country churches in the region; they are much the same in style and size, and many are closed permanently. Since my childhood, when we explored an ancient, rambling "haunted" house in the city where I was born, I've had the urge to break into abandoned buildings and look around.

I'm sure there's nothing much to see in the churches. Most of these 100-year+ houses of worship didn't even have stained glass windows.

I have much the same urge - I just want to see what's inside... you never know what kind of treasure (of the photographic variety) you might find. :)

Agreed! The haunted house of my childhood was a grand old mansion (crumbling, condemned) but had the most amazing wide, curving, Gone-with-the-Wind staircase from the massive main foyer to the upstairs. Even at the tender age of 8 I was in awe of that and other architectural features in the house.

You should check out this site:

It's a group of people that explore old buildings and other things in the Minneapolis area. Lots of great stories and photos.

I don't think they're doing it as much (if at all) anymore, but hey - still worth a look.

I love exploring weathered old abandoned buildings. I seldom go inside though. Rare to get permission to be there at all. But I do take plenty of photos. I've made a group on Flickr for those in Ontario. My own photos are up there and sometimes I stick one in my blog.
